What is Equine-Assisted Therapy?
This collaborative, experiential process allows horses to serve as mirrors and facilitators in your journey toward greater self-awareness. No riding involved—just hands-on interaction and meaningful reflection in a supportive group setting.
Psychoeducation & Nervous System Regulation:
Understand more about your nervous system. A key part of our therapy involves learning about the sympathetic nervous system—the part of your body that activates during stress or danger (the "fight or flight" response). Your nervous system plays a big role in how you experience safety and stress. This portion of the day uses Polyvagal theory to teach you how to understand and navigate your states, explore your nervous system and find calm amid chaos.
Why is this important?
By understanding how your nervous system works, you can develop skills to regulate your emotions more effectively. Horses are highly sensitive to human emotional states, making them perfect partners for learning about co-regulation—how we influence and are influenced by others in calming or activating our nervous systems.
What You'll Learn:
Recognize signs of sympathetic activation (stress, anxiety, agitation)
Techniques to shift into a calmer state
How to co-regulate with others and with horses for greater emotional balance
Practical tools for managing stress in daily life
Begin to heal trauma, grief and loss.
Body Energy & Somatic Awareness:
Tapping Into Your Body’s Energy
Our bodies carry energy—a vital, dynamic force that influences how we feel and move. Learning to tune into this body energy helps you become more aware of subtle sensations and emotional states, fostering greater self-awareness and emotional regulation.
Why Focus on Body Energy?
Horses are especially attuned to body language and energy, making them excellent guides in noticing where energy is stored or blocked within your body. This awareness can help you release tension, shift emotional states, and cultivate a sense of groundedness.
What You'll Discover:
How to sense and interpret your body’s energy and sensations
Techniques to balance and move your energy consciously
Practices to cultivate vitality, calmness, or focus based on your needs
Using body energy awareness to enhance emotional resilience
